Occupational Therapy group and paired sessions
|
At Ambroise Farm, our occupational therapists Charlie and Miriam team up together to run OT groups and paired sibling sessions for neurodiverse children on a needs basis; usually in the school holidays.
Group and paired sessions are invitation only following an initial consultation or block of individual OT to ensure needs of all the children have been considered and social-relationship goals formulated. Sibling sessions are the most popular, where shared joy and understanding strengthens relationships within a natural and nurturing space. |
The duration of the group or paired session varies depending on individual needs, although a 2 hour session is usually advised. Parents may occasionally be asked to stay should their child's risk assessment indicate the need.
A typical group or paired session may include:
- Fire lighting and cooking skills
- Sensory circuits
- Fine and gross motor activities
- Tool use and task breakdown
- Team building and social interaction
- Emotional regulation
- Sensory education
