What is Wild School?
Our Wild School sessions are a chance for kids and carers to spend time in nature, connecting with the seasons, learning about the natural world, and following their own unique enquiries and learning journeys.
At Ambroise Farm we believe that a healthy connection to the natural world and regular time in nature make for healthy, happy humans; children and adults alike.
Our wild school sessions are a blend of freedom (think forest school) and optional structured activities, designed to invoke a curiosity and wonder about the natural world.
Sessions take place primarily in 'Whimsy Wood', our spinney of native broadleaf trees, on the edge of 5 acres of certified organic land. Our nearby pond and orchard make the area wonderfully diverse and alive with insect, bird and animal life.
Within Whimsy Wood we have a mud kitchen, a wendy house, occasional use of a natural sandpit (when the badgers aren't using it!), a compost toilet and running water.
At the heart of the spinney is the most important feature, the village hearth, which is always burning, with a hot kettle ready to warm hands and hearts.
